BUILDING BRIDGES: INTEGRATING PEACE EDUCATION INTO LANGUAGE TEACHING

Assist. Prof. Dr. Hülya Küçükoğlu was born in Tarsus, Türkiye. She completed her secondary education at Tarsus American College and earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Ankara University in 1995. She later received her Master’s degree in Program Evaluation and Development from Dicle University in 2009 and completed her Ph. D. in English Language Teaching at Hacettepe University in 2015, with a focus on evaluating ELT doctoral programs

in Türkiye. Dr. Küçükoğlu has an extensive academic and professional background. She began her teaching career at Ankara University and held positions at prestigious institutions such as İstanbul Bilgi University, Başkent University, and Hacettepe University. Her roles have spanned English language instruction, curriculum development, and departmental leadership. Between 2017 and 2021, she served as a visiting professor in Moldova, where she contributed to cultural and linguistic education through her work at Moldovan universities. Currently, Dr. Küçükoğlu is a faculty member at Yozgat Bozok University as a faculty member at the Department of Western Languages and Literatures. She specializes in integrating literature, cultural studies, and modern teaching methodologies into language teaching/learning. Her research interests include peace education, intercultural communication, teacher education, and innovative language teaching practices. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Küçükoğlu has authored several books, presented at numerous international conferences, and published research in the fields of English language teaching and education. She continues to inspire students and educators with her commitment to lifelong learning and global citizenship.
